Charmain Bailey
Vocal Stylist

Charmain Bailey hails from the beautiful Caribbean Island of Antigua in the small district called Potters.   Like many other accomplished vocalists and musicians, Charmain started singing in her church choir at an early age and at seventeen (17) she auditioned for local bandleader Lee Williams.

At the start of her career, Charmain was performing in hotels/resorts on the island. Charmain was soon introduced to the world of jazz, and promptly established her career in that genre. Her influences included local jazz gurus Courtney Whynter and Terry Lewis.

In 1993 Charmain won the coveted titles of Ms Antigua, and Ms Jaycees Caribbean Queen, and earned the opportunity to record her first single – Billy Holiday’s ‘God Bless the Child’.    In 1995, Charmain migrated to Canada, settling in London, Ontario.

In 1997, Charmain Bailey became the lead vocalist and 2nd percussionist for Jade Idols, who recorded a self-titled album the following year.   In 2001, Jade Idols disbanded, and as each member pursued their own projects.  Charmain however, concentrated on doing solo work at concerts, festivals, charity events and fine dining establishments.   Charmain has duly performed with London’s finest musicians including Carole Allison, Orlando Valencia, Vinnie Vincenzo, and Dave Dillon Blues Band.

Charmain Bailey, a top-notch professional with an addictive personality, a flare for the standards, and unforgettable phrasings!
